The Gardens on Hope - Affordable Housing for Santa Barbara's Seniors

2nd Story Associates is proud to be a General Partner in the development of the Gardens on Hope. On Monday, July 30th a groundbreaking ceremony was held to kick-off the construction of this important project. Construction is expected to last 14 months.

Demand for affordable housing for Santa Barbara's senior population is growing exponentially within the City proper: 1 in every 14 seniors in Santa Barbara lives in poverty.

The Gardens on Hope will consist of 89 studio units and will provide senior residents with three meals a day, housekeeping, transportation to medical appointments and a host of social programs. This new community will enable this financially vulnerable population to avoid premature placement in skilled nursing, often the only option for our frail, low-income seniors.

The Gardens on Hope will provide independence, a sense of well-being, community, dignity, and safety - the basic necessities for a long and happy life.
